“Italian Sushi” is a still life photography project that explores the fusion of my Italian and Japanese heritage through visual metaphors involving food and cultural objects. The photographs reflect the coexistence of these two cultures and address the themes of multicultural and multiracial identity.

The project visually investigates the blend of mixed cultures by juxtaposing unconventional associations of food and cultural items. Examples include eating spaghetti with chopsticks, eating sushi with a fork and knife, and drinking matcha from a coffee mug. The color palette incorporates tones from both the Italian and Japanese flags, combining green, red, and white. Additionally, red and dark green are frequently found in Japanese visual aesthetics.
